Circolo Trentino Melbourne Club

10th National Convention

24th 25th and 26th April 2009

Dear Members and Friends,

It is with great pleasure and excitement that we send you this information about the 10th Australian Trentino National Convention.

It has been a long time since Melbourne has hosted a Convention and we are so looking forward to seeing and meet all of our old friends again.  We are also hoping to meet some new people, young people, people who have never been to one of our Conventions and also friends of the Trentini here in Australia.

After much careful planning, our theme for this Convention is ‘Trentini d’origine, Cittadini del Mondo, Celebrations through different Generations’.  We might live in Australia, however, with our Trentino background we are connected to other parts of the world.  We would also like to take the time during the convention to celebrate the story of the Trentini here in Australia; first, second, third and maybe fourth generation.

We have invited Renzo Tommasi, who will present a summary of the information he collected here in Australia last year through his interviews, video and audio taping.  It will be very interesting to hear Renzo’s interpretation of our experiences here in Australia as Trentini.  Many of you met Renzo when he was here last year and have told your story to him about your experiences here in Australia.  You may also feature in his presentation, so don’t miss out!

We have also invited Paola de Manincor because she has interpreted and shared the story of our Trentini here in Australia many times with her artworks.  Many of our stories are depicted in her murals around Australia.  During her visit here, Paola will run workshops in collaboration with Andrea Tomaselli, they’ll engage with younger Australian Trentini on themes such as migration, culture and traditions of the Trentini people. The result of these workshops will be a series of artworks, made by the participants, and will be officially exhibited and presented at the Convention.

Please find attached with this letter an itinerary outlining the activities on this weekend, information about the Hotel participants will be staying in and the what is included in the cost of the attending the Convention.

There is a registration form for you to fill in to book your place at the Convention.  We ask that you forward this letter to anyone who you might think will be interested in the Convention

Regards

Pio Fedrizzi

President of Circolo Trentino Melbourne Club
